George Floyd, a 46-year-old African American, died in May 2020 after being brutally apprehended for reportedly using fake money in a shop. A white police officer pressed Floyd to the ground with his knee for almost nine minutes, during which time the man begged to be allowed to breath and eventually suffocated to death.
