Late on Wednesday night, several residents from the Shivamogga region of Karnataka state took to Twitter to report hearing a loud “bomb-like” explosion. While several people thought it was an earthquake, it was not until late into the night when it was revealed that a massive blast had occurred at a stone mining quarry.
